Electronics Warranty in Bangladesh: What to Check
“Official warranty” and “shop warranty” are not interchangeable promises. When buying electronics in Bangladesh, ask who provides the service, which parts are covered and what written evidence you will need to claim it.
Identify the warranty provider
Ask whether support comes from the manufacturer, a local distributor or the shop itself. Request the provider's name, service location and contact details. A seller's use of the word official is not enough: verify authorisation through the manufacturer's own information where available. Coverage can depend on the model, region and serial number.
Get the exclusions in writing
Ask about separate coverage for the battery, charger, display and other accessories. Clarify how physical damage, liquid damage and electrical damage are handled. Do not assume all parts receive the same warranty period. Ask whether labour, spare parts or transport to a service centre will cost extra.
Separate returns from repairs
A warranty usually concerns service under stated conditions; it does not automatically mean you can return a working device because you changed your mind. Ask separately about faulty-on-arrival reporting, replacement eligibility, refund terms and repair turnaround. Get the seller's response in writing before payment.
Buying an imported or unofficial unit
Ask whether the brand's Bangladesh service network will accept that exact unit. A lower-priced import may rely on seller-arranged support rather than local manufacturer coverage. Compare the saving against possible shipping costs, repair delays and parts availability. Do not treat an international-warranty label as proof of local service eligibility.
Your pre-payment checklist
Save the invoice with the exact model, purchase date and seller details; record the serial number; keep the payment receipt and warranty document. Ask: Where do I take it? Who pays transport? What is excluded? What happens if parts are unavailable? On Bangladesh Businesses, read the site's returns information and confirm the listing-specific terms with the seller.
